On the 25th September 2010, one of my closest and dearest friend, Nora got engaged. Finally another person to join in the ‘Engaged Club’ after me. I was definitely honored to be the head bridal attendant and also to help her with some of the preparations. It was my first time attending a Malay Engagement and it was indeed a good experience. Very similar to us Indians but also different in some ways. I am extremely happy for her and I’m already dreaming about our kids being good friends just like us!

Finally… A Ring
Finally, a ring on my finger. No, I’m not married YET but am engaged to the man I love for the past three and half years on the 22nd of August. It was indeed a memorable event despite some family dramas. I must say everything went so smoothly. I was definitely feeling nervous due to the crowd. But I have to thank everyone who attended my engagement, especially my family, close friends and colleagues (they’re more like my friends than colleagues to me now). Thank you all so much for coming all the way just to see me getting engaged. I really appreciate it

The henna experience…
Tomorrow will be my big day. Well its only my engagement but it is definitely my big day! I did my henna on Thursday. My very first henna experience. Well, let me tell you that it was one hell of an experience. I never knew there were so many rules/guidelines after you apply henna. Never knew I had to dab lime juice with sugar on the henna every half an hour for four times. Never knew I had to steam my hands over smoked clove for a few minutes. And I NEVER KNEW the henna-ed area cannot be exposed to water for at least 12 hours! INSANE!
The first thing that came to my mind was, “how la to mandi like this?” I could hardly do anything that day. Practically I was a baby for one day. My mum had to feed me and she even insisted on bathing me! Of course I declined her offer la but unfortunately that did not work 
. HAIH! After probably 20 years of not bathing me, that day she did. Arrgghhh! My brother was laughing his heads off. I was like the joke of the day. Oh well, all this comes only once so who cares. After all she’s my mum. It was a darn weird experience. :p
For now everything is prepared for tomorrow. I just hope everything will go on smoothly and most importantly hope it does not rain!
Preparations…
Its only 17 days till my engagement date which will be on the 22nd August. Preparations are almost done except for the door gifts. Mum is making them and as usual I’ll help to taste and pack…hehehe. Besides that, I will also need to go with Ram to choose my hantaran (gifts for engagement). Since he’ll be flying to Miri tomorrow, I can only do the shopping two days before my engagement. Yes, it’ll be a very last-minute shopping but I have no choice.
On another note, I should stop complaining about how busy I am now coz I’m gonna be very much busier after my engagement. Why you may ask? That’s when my wedding preparations start! I need to start planning on how to furnish my future bedroom, decide on the deco for the wedding based on the theme I have in mind, pick a design for my wedding invitation card, bring my friends go shopping for my wedding, shop for more sarees for myself and many more. Oh, how can I forget bout my photo/video shoots. I’m yet to go and do my gown/costume fittings and I have not even booked a date for the shoot yet! Aarrrghhhh! I think I need to calm down and get things sorted out.
As for now, I’m just doing the countdown (as most of u guys might notice on my facebook status message 
)! I’m excited but also nervous at the same time. Not too sure why since its only the engagement and not the wedding yet. Guess I’ll be having sleepless nights before my wedding due to being too nervous…LOL. Oh well, I just hope everything will run smoothly without any problems!
